KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia will have direct daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Yangon in Myanmar from July 20.
To celebrate the introduction of the new route, AirAsia will be offering all-in fares for the new route from as low as RM29 one way.
The booking period will end this Sunday for the travel period between July 20 and May 8 next year.
The new route would be serviced by the Airbus A320 aircraft with an 180 passenger capacity, the airline said in a press statement yesterday.
AirAsia regional head of commercial Kathleen Tan said Myanmar would see a big boost in tourists with the introduction to this new direct daily flight.
“AirAsia’s affordable fares will also enable the Myanmar workforce in Malaysia to return home and visit their families more often.
“Avid travellers and backpackers looking for the Asian experience can now add Myanmar to their list, as AirAsia’s entry into this market offers greater connectivity options from our Kuala Lumpur hub at a much lower fare,” she said.
